From Janelle:

Because of Bob Ross, I have always enjoyed painting thanks to his videos, which has helped me express my creative drive. Through vibrant shapes and colors in their work, I’ve also developed an appreciation for artists such as Yoshitomo Nara, Yayoi Kusama, and Takashi Murakami. The piece “Guanajuato” is named after the colorful city in Mexico, it’s a place rich in history, and beautiful architecture, and captures a warm energy. “Kikay” is one of my childhood nicknames, I incorporated a lot of colors I loved as a child through layers and different shapes. “Ube” is a purple yam that is used in Filipino dishes, mostly desserts. This one pays homage to my lively and sweet childhood.
