Calling all creatives at SPSCC!

Do you have a story, poem, song, artwork, short film, or even a culinary creation you’re proud of? This is your opportunity to showcase your creativity and talent in The South Sound Review, the official online literary and arts journal of SPSCC!

What Is the South Sound Review?
The South Sound Review is SPSCC’s new online literary and arts journal—the successor to the award-winning Percival Review. We’re looking for your work to feature in our daily posts throughout May 2026

We want to spotlight diverse student voices and talents—from writers and musicians to artists and bakers, welders, architects, and more. Whether you’re crafting with words, visuals, sounds, or even culinary delights, we’re here to celebrate your creativity!

What Can You Submit?

We’re open to all kinds of creative works, including:

  • Creative Writing: Poetry, fiction, personal essays, creative nonfiction, mixed genre works
  • Music: Recordings of original songs
  • Visual Art: 2D and 3D art, photography, welding projects, architecture designs
  • Short Films or Videos: (Music must be original or public domain)
  • Culinary Creations: Photos of baked goods, meals, or brewed beverages
  • Multi-Lingual or Cross-Cultural Work: Including works written in languages other than English
  • Cross-Genre Projects: Creative work that blends art, writing, or media

Basically, if you’ve created something innovative, inspiring, or meaningful, we want to share it with the world.  To get you started, this year’s theme is Journeys and Exploration. Adherence to the theme is not required to submit, but it’s there to serve as a starting point!

Why Submit?

Get recognized for your creativity and talent! Share your creativity with the SPSCC and wider community!

  • Be Featured: Your work will be showcased on The South Sound Review website, shared on campus, and highlighted on SPSCC’s social media platforms.
  • Inspire Others: Join a community of creators and contribute to a space celebrating student voices and talents.
